Auction outcome: 50 MW wind power plant to be built in Turkestan region

QAZAQ GREEN. On November 17, 2023, the auction was conducted to select renewable energy wind power projects for the Southern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan, totaling 50 MW in installed capacity.
Six companies participated in the auction, submitting 31 price offers during the trading session. The total volume of applications reached 240 MW.
The initial maximum auction price stood at 22.68 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT). Subsequently, there was a decrease in the price range of applications from 22.68 to 11.78 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT), reflecting a 48% reduction from the maximum auction price for the selection of projects for the construction of the wind power plants (WPP).
The winner of the auction was determined to be the company "New Clean Energy" LLP with a project capacity of 50 MW and an auction price of 11.78 KZT/kWh (without VAT). The project is slated for placement in the Turkestan region.
Observers from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives "ECOJER," and the EBRD participated in the auction.

Notably, as per the auction schedule for the Southern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan near the Turkestan region, two auctions are planned this year, with a total capacity of 100 MW.
The upcoming auction is scheduled for November 20, 2023, focusing on the selection of WPP projects for the Southern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
