RES auction: EcoWind to build 200 MW wind farm in Kostanay region

QAZAQ GREEN. On June 14, 2024, auctions were held to select projects for the construction of RES wind power plants for the Northern Zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a total installed capacity of 200 MW, reports KOREM.
9 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, and 35 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted amounted to 1,400 MW.
The maximum auction price during the auction for the selection of WPP projects in 2024 was 22.68 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT). The decrease in the price range of applications was recorded from 22.68 to 9.01 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).
According to the results of the auction, the winner was determined by the company - «EcoWind» LLP, the installed capacity of the project is 200 MW, the auction price is 9.01 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT). The project is planned to be placed in Kostanay region.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, USAID and UNDP participated as observers. Observers note the full transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer JSC «KOREM».
The next auction is scheduled for June 17, 2024 for the selection of WPP projects for the Northern zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.
