Auction winner of the to build a 100 mw wind farm in Kostanay region

QAZAQ GREEN. On November 18, 2024, auctions were held to select projects for constructing wind power plants in the Northern Zone of Kazakhstan’s Unified Energy System (UES), with a total installed capacity of 100 MW, according to KOREM.
Seven companies were approved to participate in the auction, submitting 34 price offers during the trading session. The total volume of applications reached 600 MW, reflecting significant interest in the project.
The maximum auction price was set at 22.68 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT). By the end of the session, the price offers decreased from 22.68 KZT to 11.83 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT), marking a significant reduction of 47.8% from the initial maximum price.
The auction concluded with LLP "Kaindy Energy" being declared the winner. The company will implement a wind power project with an installed capacity of 100 MW at an auction price of 11.83 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT). The wind power plant is planned for construction in the Kostanay region.
Representatives from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and USAID participated as observers during the auction process.
