Green electricity tariffs approved in Kazakhstan

QAZAQ GREEN. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan has approved fixed tariffs for the supply of electricity generated using renewable energy sources (RES).
The corresponding order, developed under the framework of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Supporting the Use of Renewable Energy Sources," will come into force 10 days after its first official publication.
New tariffs:
- Wind power plants (excluding the "Astana EXPO-2017" project with a capacity of 100 MW) – 22.68 KZT/kWh.
- Astana EXPO-2017 Wind Power Plant (100 MW) – 59.7 KZT/kWh.
- Solar power plants (excluding Kazakh silicon modules) – 34.61 KZT/kWh.
- Hydropower plants – 41.23 KZT/kWh.
- Biogas plants – 32.23 KZT/kWh.
The fixed tariffs for the supply of electricity generated from renewable energy facilities are approved in accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Supporting the Use of Renewable Energy Sources."
