Floating solar farm to be built at Toktogul HPP

QAZAQ GREEN. The Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Taalaibek Ibraev, made a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, Vecherniy Bishkek reports.
During the visit, an Investment Agreement was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the companies 'Sonnenenergie, a.s.', 'AB Progressio GmbH', 'LTI ReEnergy CleanTech Project Development UG', JSC 'SES Toktogul', and JSC 'SES Toktogul KG' to implement a project for the construction and operation of two floating solar power plants.
The main goal of the signed document is to attract investments into green energy projects in the Kyrgyz Republic, reduce dependence on imported electricity, and strengthen energy security and independence.
The relevant document was signed by the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Taalaibek Ibraev, Mr. Jan Zonenschein, Chairman of the Board of Directors of 'Sonnenenergie, a.s.', investor of AB Progressio GmbH, Managing Partner Arnold Behrens, Managing Partner of LTI ReEnergy CleanTech Project Development UG Michael Bellmer, Anuar Topeev, General Director of 'SES Toktogul' and 'SES Toktogul KG'.
The project involves the construction of a floating solar power plant with a capacity of 612 MW, divided into two phases. The construction will take up to four years.
Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and 'Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG'. The memorandum is aimed at researching and implementing energy sector projects.
The document was signed by the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, T. Ibraev, and Maxim Zubov, Vice President of the Turkey and Central Asia Sub-Region at Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG.
