Samruk-Energy and Harbin Electric expand cooperation in renewables and clean coal technologies

QAZAQ GREEN. Samruk-Energy JSC and Harbin Electric International Co., Ltd. have signed a memorandum of cooperation to advance joint energy projects. The agreement was formalized during a meeting between Samruk-Energy Chairman Kairat Maksutov and Li Chao, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Harbin Electric International, the Kazakh company reported.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the progress of existing initiatives and outlined priority areas for future collaboration. The memorandum focuses on modernising Kazakhstan’s energy infrastructure, expanding the use of renewable energy, and introducing advanced technologies.
A key element of the agreement is the establishment of a joint working group to explore cooperation in emerging areas such as clean coal technologies, carbon capture, hydrogen energy, and smart power systems.
According to Kairat Maksutov, the partnership with Harbin Electric opens new opportunities for Kazakhstan’s energy industry and supports the adoption of cutting-edge solutions. “Signing this memorandum with one of the world’s leading energy engineering companies marks an important step in strengthening strategic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China,” he said.
