Board of Directors of Qazaq Green RES Association set policy and strategy for 2023
QAZAQ GREEN. On 18 January Qazaq Green RES Association held its first meeting of the Board of Directors in 2023.
The Board of Directors and members discussed the results of the Association in 2022 and the work plan for 2023. The 2023 Work Plan of the Association includes 5 sections: work on the strategic vision of the industry, regulatory support, educational activities, development of carbon markets, and information support for the development of the renewable energy sector. Among the major events planned for 2023, they discussed the issue of holding the 2nd International Festival of renewable energy “Qazaq Green Fest – 2023“.
New members of the Board of Directors were also introduced at the meeting: Aida Maksut, Director of SSDC LLP, and Arseniy Katerusha, Chief Lawyer of ЦАТЭК Green Energy LLP.
Based on the applications submitted, the Board of Directors decided to accept Jinko Solar as a member and Altynalmas JSC as an accredited observer.
The meeting participants also exchanged their opinions on the issues of RES development in Kazakhstan: the intergovernmental agreement on the implementation of a 1 GW RES project, implementation of small HPP projects, development of small-scale RES, the impact of the introduction of the Single buyer, and real-time balancing electricity market on RES facilities, and the need for a Strategy for the Development of the RK Electric Power Industry. It was decided to take control of these issues, actively participate in their discussion on various platforms and inform the Board of Directors of the current status.
The Board of Directors of Qazaq Green RES Association, a collegial management body of the Association, coordinates the activities of the Association. The Board of Directors includes influential experts in the power and RES industry: Sospanova A.S., Shkarupa A.V., Tyugay V.G., Mominbaev J.B., Khisamidinova K.R., Bilyalov E.M., Stillavato A., Slesarenko A.V., Maksut A., Katerusha A.V. The Chairman of the Association Board of Directors is Kapenov N.N.
