Chinese company ready to invest $1 billion in solar and wind generation in Kyrgyzstan

QAZAQ GREEN. China Energy Engineering Investment Company has expressed readiness to invest up to $1 billion in the construction of solar and wind power plants in Kyrgyzstan with a total capacity of up to 700 MW — 500 MW in solar generation and 200 MW in wind.
This was announced following a meeting between the Head of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ravshanbek Sabirov, and a delegation from the company. The talks were also attended by Xue Danfeng, Deputy Chairman of the International Division of China Energy International, and the Director of the Green Energy Fund under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The parties discussed cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources and the implementation of investment projects. The Kyrgyz side provided information on the country's investment climate and current state support measures.
"The Kyrgyz Republic views the development of renewable energy as one of its priority areas. We are open to cooperation with international partners and are ready to provide support at all stages of investment project implementation," said Ravshanbek Sabirov.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue and jointly develop specific areas of cooperation.
