Batys Kaspiy Energo wins auction for 250 MW wind farm in Atyrau region

QAZAQ GREEN. On April 27, 2026, free auctions were held to select a renewable energy project for a 250 MW wind power plant in the Western zone of Kazakhstan’s Unified Power System (Atyrau region), according to KOREM.

Under the auction terms, wind projects must include energy storage systems with capacity equal to at least 30% of installed capacity and sufficient storage to supply that output for a minimum of two hours.

Two companies qualified for the auction. During the session, participants submitted 16 price bids, with total offers reaching 500 MW.

Batys Caspiy Energo LLP  was awarded the project with a 250 MW capacity at a tariff of 22.32 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).

Representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies, the Ministry of Energy, and industry associations took part as observers. They confirmed the transparency and integrity of the electronic trading system operated by KOREM.
