Kazakhstan cancels 50 MW solar auction due to lack of participants

QAZAQ GREEN. The auction for a 50 MW solar power project held on 28 April 2026 has been cancelled after failing to attract sufficient participation, according to KOREM.
No companies qualified for the bidding process. Under the auction rules, at least two participants must submit applications for the process to proceed, leading to the cancellation.
As a result, no winner was selected.
In line with the regulations, a repeat auction may be held within three months from the date of cancellation and can take place only once. The date will be set by the authorised body and announced on the official websites of both the authority and the organiser at least 30 calendar days in advance.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Qazaq Green Renewable Energy Association attended the process as observers. They confirmed the transparency and proper functioning of the electronic trading platform operated by KOREM.
