China raises RES share to 60% of total installed capacity

QAZAQ GREEN. As of the end of March 2026, China's total installed renewable energy capacity reached approximately 2.4 billion kW, exceeding 60% of the country's total installed capacity, People's Daily reports citing the National Energy Administration of China.

In the first three months of the year, 58.93 million kW of new renewable energy capacity was commissioned — accounting for 70% of all new energy capacity launched during the period. The volume of electricity generated from renewable sources amounted to 882.9 billion kWh, or approximately 37.1% of total power generation.
