Solar panels of Progress MS-34 cargo spacecraft pass testing at Baikonur

QAZAQ GREEN. Specialists at the Baikonur Cosmodrome have completed testing of the solar panels of the Progress MS-34 cargo spacecraft, TASS reports citing Roscosmos.
"The solar panels of Progress MS-34 have passed inspection. At Baikonur, Roscosmos specialists visually checked the integrity of all connections and photovoltaic cells, then exposed the panels to powerful lamps to verify that light energy is being converted into electricity," the statement said.
The testing procedure involves directing a powerful artificial light source — simulating the Sun — onto the panel while recording a current-voltage characteristic curve, which reflects the panel's performance. Under these conditions, the panels behave much as they would in actual operation: they absorb light and generate current, allowing engineers to verify that performance meets the required specifications.
