Winner announced for 100 MW solar auction in Kazakhstan

QAZAQ GREEN. On April 29, 2026, an auction was held to select a project for the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant in the southern zone of Kazakhstan’s Unified Power System (Almaty region).
One of the key requirements is the installation of an energy storage system with a capacity of at least 30% of the plant’s installed capacity, capable of delivering that output for a minimum of four hours.
Three companies were admitted to participate. During the auction session, two price bids were submitted, with total offers reaching 300 MW.
LLP Shetmerki was declared the winner with a project capacity of 100 MW and a tariff of 34.56 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Qazaq Green Renewable Energy Association attended the auction as observers. They confirmed the transparency and proper functioning of the electronic trading system operated by KOREM.
