50 MW wind farm commissioned in Zhetysu region

QAZAQ GREEN. The 50 MW Abay-2 wind power plant has been officially launched in Sarkan district of Zhetysu oblast, the press service of Akim's office of the Zhetysu region reports.
Over 19 billion KZT of private funds have been invested in the largest investment project in the district. In total, 3 more HPPs with a total capacity of 23.5 MW are scheduled for commissioning this year in the oblast, while 14 RES facilities with a total capacity of 160 MW are currently operating in the region.
According to the Sarkan district akimat, the phased construction of a wind power plant in the Lepsi rural district was started in 2019. Special attention was paid to the location of the facility. The flat area is characterised by the required average annual wind speed, which makes it possible to generate electricity all year round. Construction and installation work was fully completed in November 2022. Since then, the volume of electricity produced by the wind power plant has amounted to 23,767 thousand kWh.
A total of 16 wind turbines have been placed within the framework of the project implemented by ENEVERSE KUNKUAT LLP. The height of the wind masts is 100 metres and the size of the blades is 70 metres. Each wind turbine is capable of generating around 3.2 MW of electricity. The total capacity is 50 MW.
