Kazakhstan to сhannel 50 billion tenge into renewable energy in 2024

QAZAQ GREEN. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan has revealed the planned investment volume for the development and implementation of renewable energy sources (RES) in 2024, according to Kazinform.
"The total investment will be around 50 billion tenge," the Ministry informed Kazinform. "This includes 9 billion tenge for wind power plants, 13 billion tenge for solar power plants, and 28 billion tenge for hydroelectric power plants."
The Ministry further stated that 11 new RES facilities with a combined capacity of 117.35 MW are expected to be commissioned in 2024. This breakdown includes:
· 3 wind power plants (WPP) with a total capacity of 27.45 MW
· 2 solar power plants (SPP) with a total capacity of 40 MW
· 6 hydroelectric power plants (HPP) with a total capacity of 49.9 MW
Earlier, Almassadam Satkaliyev, Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy, outlined plans to introduce additional RES in 2024.
"We have a comprehensive program for the development of RES," the Minister said. "This year, we have a significant volume of projects planned across Kazakhstan, with facilities ranging in capacity from 50 to 40 megawatts."
