Kazakhstan launched wind turbine component plant

QAZAQ GREEN. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, currently on an official visit to China, and First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Ding Xuexiang took part in a video conference to inaugurate the first production complex for wind energy components in the Zhambyl region.
During his visit, the head of state also met with Xiang Wenbo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese corporation Sany Group Co. Ltd., to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation, according to the presidential press service.
The talks focused on joint projects in green energy and mechanical engineering, as well as research and development partnerships and the deployment of innovative technologies.
President Tokayev welcomed Sany Group’s plans to expand its presence in the Kazakh market. The company intends to establish advanced manufacturing of specialized equipment in the country.
Particular attention was given to the launch of the new wind turbine component plant in the Zhambyl region. Tokayev noted that the facility marks a significant milestone in strengthening Kazakh–Chinese cooperation.
Xiang Wenbo outlined the corporation’s ambitious plans for business expansion in Kazakhstan, including its flagship project—the construction of a wind farm with a capacity of up to 1 gigawatt, which is already in the design stage.
The plant is located in the Silk Road SEZ in Shu. It will produce nacelles, hubs, towers, and other key components for wind farms. The project is expected to support the development of new wind farms in Kazakhstan and make a substantial contribution to the country’s green energy sector.
