Renewable energy share in Kazakhstan’s electricity generation reached 7.17%

QAZAQ GREEN. In the first nine months of 2025, Kazakhstan’s renewable energy facilities generated 6.45 billion kWh of electricity — an increase of 11.5% compared to the same period last year. The share of renewables in total electricity production reached 7.17%.
As of the end of September, the total installed capacity of renewable energy facilities stood at 3,248.12 MW, including:
- wind power plants — 1,670.05 MW,
- solar power plants — 1,262.61 MW,
- small hydropower plants — 313.69 MW,
- bioenergy plants — 1.77 MW.
Wind power accounted for the largest share of generation with 3,771.5 million kWh, followed by solar — 1,725 million kWh, small hydropower — 948 million kWh, and bioenergy — 2.5 million kWh.
According to Energy Ministry, renewable energy generation in Kazakhstan increased by 11.5% in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
