Siemens Energy intends to get involved in significant energy projects execution in Kazakhstan

QAZAQ GREEN. According to the Ministry of Energy, during his recent working trip to Germany, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, Almassadam Satkaliyev, held discussions with Siemens Energy representatives regarding the potential participation of the company in major energy ventures within Kazakhstan.
Currently, Kazakhstan is actively implementing projects aimed at modernizing and introducing new energy sources to meet its medium-term electricity demand.
The Ministry of Energy has already established a cooperative partnership with Siemens Energy in several ongoing projects. One notable project involves the construction of a 1,000 MW combined cycle gas turbine plant in the Turkestan region, which was undertaken as part of a competitive auction process. Additionally, efforts are underway to enhance the electrical grid in various regions of Kazakhstan, ultimately improving its reliability and capacity.
Siemens Energy is also engaged in projects focused on transitioning CHP-2 (600 MW capacity) and CHP-3 (480 MW capacity) from coal to natural gas in Almaty.
During their meeting, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan extended an invitation to Siemens Energy to actively participate in these initiatives. Company representatives showcased innovative solutions related to energy infrastructure development and expressed their readiness to supply equipment. Specifics regarding future collaboration will be addressed in upcoming discussions.
Furthermore, during the same trip, there was a meeting with representatives of the German energy agency DENA. They presented a pilot project dedicated to managing carbon emissions and shared advancements in carbon dioxide capture and storage technologies. Both parties agreed to explore potential avenues for future cooperation.
