EFCA and FemAgora start accepting applications for a competition for women leaders in Central Asia

QAZAQ GREEN. The Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) and the FemAgora initiative have officially opened the application process for a competitive call for proposals. The initiative aims to identify and support women's organizations and women-led initiatives as part of a comprehensive capacity-building program. The deadline for submissions is set for January 12, 2024.
In a joint statement, EFCA and FemAgora extended an invitation for applications from women-led organizations and initiatives in four Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The organizers expressed their interest in collaborating with entities eager for equal expert and institutional mentorship, coaching, financial support, and an exchange of experiences. The primary goals include team growth, organizational strengthening, active engagement in the region's civil society, and empowerment of women and girls.
The program, scheduled to run from March to July 2024, presents a distinctive opportunity for ten recently established organizations and initiative groups facing financial challenges. Participants stand to gain not only financial assistance but also crucial institutional development support.
Organizations meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
• Founded and led by women.
• Demonstrated interest in the institutional development of their organization.
• A project history of up to 5 years focused on empowering their community and advocating for justice and human rights in the regions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and/or Uzbekistan.
• A current annual budget of up to $50,000.
Applications will be accepted until January 12, 2024. This initiative seeks to empower and support women leaders striving to achieve sustainable development for their organizations and contribute positively to societal processes in the Central Asian region.
