Turkey targets 50% renewable energy in electricity mix by 2025

QAZAQ GREEN. The Turkish government aims to boost the share of renewables in the country's electricity mix to 47.8% by 2025, according to the budget plan from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, which was recently submitted to parliament, Business Media reports.
The Ministry plans to increase electricity production through hydropower, wind, and solar power plants, as well as geothermal sources.
Additionally, the government is focused on reducing electricity losses during transmission and distribution, while also expanding gas storage capacity.

By the end of 2023, the share of RES in Turkey's overall electricity generation reached 42.7%, and it is projected to rise to 45% by the end of this year.
